Privacy Policy

This site is plain HTML. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and keeps no record of who visits.

What this site collects

Nothing. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel, no advertising network and no visitor database. There is no login, no shopping cart and no server-side code of any kind.

Cookies

None are set. If you switch between the light and dark themes, that choice is saved in your own browser under the name tl-theme, using local storage rather than a cookie. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Fonts

The typefaces come from Google Fonts, so loading a page here makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google receives your IP address as part of that request, the same as on any site that uses the service. Nothing else is shared with them.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web host, it keeps ordinary server logs, which typically record an IP address, the page requested and the time. That comes with hosting rather than being something this site adds, and those logs are not used for analytics, profiling or advertising.

The contact and newsletter forms

Neither form sends anything to this site, because there is no server here to receive it. Filling one in opens a message in your own email application, addressed to me, which you can then send or discard. If you do send it, I have your email address for as long as the message stays in my inbox, and I use it only to reply to you.

Comments on old posts

Comments left on this blog between 2009 and 2022 are still published on the posts they belong to, along with the name and any website address the commenter typed at the time. Email addresses were never published and are not part of this site. Commenting is now closed. If you left a comment years ago and would rather it was not here, email me and I will remove it.

Content from other sites

A handful of older posts embed material hosted elsewhere, usually videos. Where that happens the other site applies its own rules and may set its own cookies. Nothing on this end can change that.

Your rights

Because the site holds no personal data about visitors, there is very little to ask for. If you have emailed me, or your name appears in an old comment, you can ask what I hold, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and I will do it.
