I’ve run a Private Label Rights (PLR) business in the past and I know how in demand this type of content can be to customers. PLR content is pre-written content that can be purchased by your customers, and then edited, rebranded and used. It’s a great way to help them to save time and effort while still providing valuable and unique content for their own audiences.
In this blog post, I want to look further into the PLR article packs business model. This is where you bundle up a series of ready-written articles or blog posts on a common theme, then put them up for sale as PLR. I’m not going to talk too much about how you price this or set up a store, but if you approach this the right way, you can get a stream of customers who buy from you regularly, and you can sell them multiple PLR packs on similar subjects.
Instead, I’m going to look at a new take on producing the articles which uses the power of artificial intelligence. For the purpose of this example, I’ll use the ChatGPT software and walk you through how to create a new article pack. Yes, you use artificial intelligence to speed up the process for you, but you still provide something valuable for your customers.
First, You Need A Theme
For the purpose of illustration, I’ll produce 10 articles aimed at seniors who want to live frugally. I find it always helps to specialise the packs as far as possible, so rather than just asking for articles on living frugally, ask for these to be personalised to a particular group.
Here is an example of how to make a request and the type of response that comes back. If you don’t like the response, you can always ask for another version or edit your original request. You’ll get a different response from ChatGPT every time.
Then, You Need To Generate Each Article
Once you’re happy with the ideas, you can start generating the articles.
I find it helps to remind the software you’re using of the type of reader expected, in this case seniors, and also to prompt it with a style and word length. Here’s an example of how to start the process.
The generated article I received here was only 325 words long and I think that articles between 400 and 500 words long are more marketable.
No problem. Just prompt the system to expand on this.
The version I got back here was 542 words long.
You may want to tweak the articles still further, either using the software or by hand. I would recommend that you read the articles and check they are accurate, but don’t do too much editing.
Looking quickly at this version, here is what I would do:
- change where it says “a few simple tips” to give the exact number (in this case “four simple tips“)
- add a benefit to show why seniors might want more money (this could be as simple as “to spoil your grandchildren”)
- the system generated five tips, one of which was about technology, cutting this brings down the word count and would also remove an area that may not be relevant to this audience
- likewise, in the first tip, remove the mention of “a spreadsheet or budgeting app“
- mention seniors in some of the tips to relate these more closely to the audience
None of these changes are essential, but they make the PLR come across as much more relevant and human for when you sell this
Then, You Put This Up For Sale!
It always helps to have a few PLR packs available when you launch a new store and using AI can really speed up the process.
Most people don’t realise this type of technology exists and they just want quick content, with the idea generation already done for them. You can still sell your PLR even though it was AI generated. This is even better if you’ve done your own editing.
You can also generate the sales copy. Here’s how to do this.
I would add a list of the article titles as well and their word count (which you can get straight from Microsoft Word after you’ve edited them). Plus, you might want to show part of an article as a sample to demonstrate its quality (a screen grab is good here).
If you want to go further, give your audience some ideas about how to edit the PLR to make this their own. You can put this on your website or include this with the pack as a bonus.
Again, this can be generated for you with minimal effort.
There was also a great tip generated that related directly back to the content. You can, of course, promote your own products too.
Ready To Sell PLR Articles?
I hope this post gives you some ideas. There’s a whole lot more you can do to expand upon this business model and strategy, but it’s very valuable and timely, especially while AI technologies are not in widespread use.
If you choose topics that are specific, but which will not age too quickly, your PLR article packs can continue to sell for years to come.
Feel free also to contact me if you’d like me to walk through the process with you or to pick my brain on more advanced strategies. You can use the contact form and mention that you’re interested in consultancy. Maybe I’ll even turn this brief strategy into a full product if there’s enough interest!
