The Difficulties Of Creating Backend Products As An Internet Marketer

As a marketer you are probably aware that you should always offer multiple products as part of a single transaction. Once somebody has purchased your initial frontend product you might also upsell them to a backend product which is perhaps selling for more money but is definitely bringing in a source of income. But these can be difficult to create. In this article I am going to explore some of the reasons why, and what you should do about this instead.

First of all your product for the backend may be time consuming to create. This can be frustrating to try and put this together when you already have a frontend product ready to go and you want to make money as soon as possible. Do not give into this frustration. By adding a backend, which is closely tied into your frontend product, you will make more money when you release the two products as a frontend and backend couple then you would by solely launching the front end at an earlier date and then creating a backend at a later date. So spend that time even if it is consuming. You do not need to spend a lot of time if you create this second product strategically for instance by suing your existing products or video.

It can often be difficult to create a backend product because you have the mindset that you should always be upselling by the very nature of the name of this type of marketing. But you need not to worry about this being the case. A backend product does not always need to be more expensive than your front end product. There are no hard and fast rules. Sometimes it can be an excellent strategy to offer a very cheap backend product because you can almost guarantee that your customers will upgrade their offer because they are spending very little more money. So do not fall into the trap of thinking that you have got to create an elaborate course or backend product. Often a simple product will do to push your sales and profits margins up substantially.

The final difficulty of creating a backend product is the need for you to write an entirely new piece of copy to sell a backend product. This is unavoidable. You cannot usually sell a product without a copy. The good news is that once people reach the backend they already are in a buyer’s state of mind. That is you converted them with your copy of the frontend. Therefore your backend copy does not need to be anywhere as long and detailed as your front end copy. You can still convert without it. Further, if your backend product is closely tied to your front end product you do not need to list the benefits of this. These are already ingrained in your prospect’s mind. This means you can minimalise the amount of copy you need for a backend product.

There is no need to be scared about creating a backend product, or adding one of these to your sales funnel. Just work strategically to avoid this. Do not fall into the trap of thinking that this is time consuming, that this needs to be expensive, or that this needs a lot of copy. These are all myths of creating backend products. You can get a backend product created in a matter of hours if you work strategically around the front end product. Remember that your prospects already are proven to buy and ready to buy from you again. By doing this you can increase your income with backend product marketing.
